Grand opening: Iberville Chamber of Commerce hosts office ribbon cutting
PLAQUEMINE - The Iberville Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its new office location on Tuesday.
The new location is 23520 Eden St. in Plaquemine.
“We have a beautiful new office here and are enjoying every minute of it,” Executive Director Hank Grace said.
The event took place from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. with the ribbon cutting ceremony at noon.
Food and beverages were served all day beginning with breakfast.
“It provides us better technology, more efficient office and meeting room facilities and a modern design,” Membership Director Brenda Ourso said.
The Iberville Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1946. The new location includes a meeting room that seats 25-30 that is available to all members.
“We want to make Iberville Parish the place for people to live work and raise a family,” Grace said.
The Iberville Chamber of Commerce is a private, non-profit business advocacy organization that supports, attracts and develops business within the parish through cooperative efforts focused on economic, education, workforce and leadership development.
It is the voice of business at the local, state and federal levels of government. It provides members with networking opportunities while promoting a strong business climate, addressing issues relevant business concerns and helping to contribute to the overall growth and prosperity of Iberville Parish.
The Chamber is governed by a Board of Directors representing a broad cross-section of the membership. The Board sets policy, establishes budgets and oversees the work of committees and staff.
The Chairman is elected by the Board to serve a one-year term. The Executive Committee is made up of the chairman of the board, chairman-elect, first vice-chairman, the past chairman of the board, the executive director and treasurer.
