Iberville Sheriff's Office reports multiple arrests

PLAQUEMINE - According to Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi authorities received a domestic disturbance call on June 18.

Upon arrival at the scene detectives discovered that Janet Jewell, 55, 32755 Bayou Sorrel Road, Plaquemine, had stabbed her boyfriend with a kitchen knife.

Jewell was arrested for aggravated second degree battery and booked into the Iberville Parish Jail.

Also according to Stassi, Charmelle Bailey, 45, and Jeff Theriot, 37, both of 25710 Tarek Lane, Plaquemine, were arrested for simple burglary.

Detectives received a call that a home in Plaquemine had been burglarized on June 16. An investigation led to the arrest of Bailey and Theriot.

Bailey was arrested on three counts of simple burglary. Theriot was arrested for one count of simple burglary. Both were booked into the Iberville Parish Jail.

Stassi also reported that detectives arrested Russell Simpson, 30,  17194 Rennes Road, Prairieville, for theft over $1,500 on June 18.

Authorities received information that Simpson unlawfully removed power tools, stainless steel, brass and pipe fittings from his place of employment. The materials taken were valued at approximately $50,000. 

Simpson was arrested and booked into the Iberville Parish Jail.
