Asolo Rep launches IllumiNation discussion series

As it reopens after an extensive pandemic break, Asolo Repertory Theatre is launching a new season of its IllumiNation Series.

Four shows, beginning with the season-opening musical “Hair” are included, with discounted tickets, pre-show receptions and post-performance community conversations.

In addition to “Hair,” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8, the program will feature Bess Wohl’s recent Broadway play “Grand Horizons,” (7:30 p.m. Feb. 2); Thornton Wilder’s classic “Our Town” (2 p.m. Feb. 26); and Lauren Yee’s “The Great Leap” (2 p.m. March 12), about the aftermath of an American-Chinese basketball friendship game.

The series focuses on the social, political and cultural themes that connect the different shows in the season, with a diverse panel of speakers and audience interaction.

Tickets for the four-show series range from $99 to $250, depending on seating location, and represent a 25 percent discount on regular ticket prices.
