The Iberville Parish Library presents its 42nd annual Acadian ArtShow at the “J. Allan Nadler” Main Library located at 24605 J. G. Berret Blvd. in Plaquemine.

This colorful cultural event is held each October in conjunction with the International Acadian Festival. On display begins Oct. 27, with oil paintings, drawings, and watercolors by professional and non-professional artists from south Louisiana - most of them from Iberville and surrounding parishes.

The art is all original work - much of it created by your friends and neighbors. Many of the pieces are for sale, and at reasonable prices.  This is a fine opportunity to see quality local art, and to buy original art to decorate your home, office or camp. You name it, there is a picture waiting for you.

You can tour the Acadian ArtShow at the Main Library during open hours through Nov. 3.  Printed programs are available listing the artists and the titles of their artwork. The public is invited to a reception honoring the artists at the Main Library meeting room, Nov. 4, from 2 - 4 p.m.  Gracing the reception and handing out awards to the artists will be Annette Stassi, this year's Miss Evangeline.

The Plaquemine Service League will be serving refreshments. Ribbons for first, second, and third place will be awarded. Cash awards will be given to the grand prize and first place winners -made possible by a donation from Syngenta of St. Gabriel.  Gift certificates for use at the Co-Op Bookstore at LSU will be awarded to the second and third place winners—funded by a donation from the Friends of the Iberville Public Libraries.
