Maddison Bahry named 2010 Evangeline

Maddison “Maddie” Bahry was named 2010 Evangeline during a ceremony Saturday evening at the Knights of Columbus Council 970 Hall in Plaquemine.

Bahry will preside over festivities at the 41st annual International Acadian Festival in October. She will also represent the local K.C. council in events on both the state and national level during the course of the next year.

The Indian Princesses, runners-up to Bahry as Evangeline will be part of the annual water ceremonies and special Mass to begin the festival in mid-October in Plaquemine. The Indian Princesses are (not in order): Megan Best, Haley Allain, Caroline Delahaye, Kelsie Mills, Jamie Leonard, Blair Griffon, Alexis Ledet, Katie Lively, Destiny Pierce, Kathryn D'Albor, Claire Bordelon, Taylor Landry, Alannah Myers, Shalyn Weber.
