District L pumps up early voting numbers
A total of 233 voters turned out Saturday for the first day of early voting, many of them from School Board District L, where incumbent Freddie “Sam” Molden III is being opposed by his sister-in-law Irene Delone Dennis.
The Bayou Goula-area voters have comprised the largest voting group so far, Registrar of Voters Melissa S. Bourgoyne reported Tuesday.
Another 92 voters turned out Monday.
Early voting in the October 2 primary elections continues from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Saturday at the registrar's office, on the second floor of the Courthouse.
At stake are primary elections for lieutenant governor, nine Iberville Parish School Board seats, and municipal posts in White Castle and Maringouin. Two proposed constitutional amendments also are on the ballot.
Sample ballots for each precinct are available online at GeauxVote.com, Bourgoyne said.
