Four hoop clubs set for playoff games Thursday, Friday
Four Iberville Parish basketball teams were set for state playoff games either Thursday or Friday.
White Castle High’s Lady Bulldogs advanced to the state quarterfinals tonight. The WC girls host Cedar Creek High at 7 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs beat hosting St. Mary’s of Natchitoches in the regional round Tuesday night by a 51-38 score to advance. They opened with a 55-21 rout of Hanson Memorial in the first round.
While WCHS advanced, Plaquemine High’s girls lost in their regional road game, falling 69-46 to hosting Northwest High. PHS beat North Vermillion 58-54 in the first round.
Seedings and playoff brackets for a trio of parish boy hoop clubs came out Monday and first round playoff games were set for tomorrow night.
District 8-3A champion Plaquemine High received only a number 18 seed despite going unbeaten in their league race and posting an 18-11 season mark. They are to travel in the first round to number 15 seed Franklin High tomorrow night for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
District 8-A co-champ White Castle High received a number four seed with a 22-8 season record and the Bulldogs will host number 29 seed Delcambre High tomorrow night with a 7 p.m. tipoff.
East Iberville High, the District 8-A runner-up to WCHS and Christian Life, received a number five seed and will host number 28th seeded St. Edmund High tomorrow night with a 7 p.m. tipoff. EIHS finished the season with a 21-6 record.
