Tullier celebrates 80th birthday

Rometra J. Tullier, celebrated her 80th birthday with Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine and lunch at The Grapevine in Donaldsonville on Oct. 28.
She enjoyed the day with her husband of 61 years, Archie J. Tullier, and her family, including her youngest grandson, Andrew J. Gunnels, of Port Allen. Ms.
Tullier was also honored on Oct. 18 with a surprise luncheon at Nottoway Plantation hosted by her daughter, Keetsie Gunnels,
and daughter-in-law, Delba Tullier, of Gonzales.
The surprise was made possible with the help of Betty Blanchard and the luncheon was attended by members of Tullier's Wednesday Canasta Lunch Bunch, including Blanchard, Kathy Hebert, Evelyn Miller, Denise Brown, Jocelyn Gauthreaux, Gerry Landry, Myrle Ostergren, Gayle Schwing and Barbara Breaux.
Unable to attend the luncheon were Myrna Hargrove and Judy Whitfield, both of whom were present in spirit but still greatly missed.
At the luncheon, Tullier was presented with a bouquet of 80 yellow roses, a Scarlett O'Hara Chocolate Cake and a corsage of yellow and white silk roses.
