The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. John 1214 of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine celebrated Christmas with a banquet at the Island Country Club Dec. 3.

The members entertained special guests Deacon and Mrs. Alfred Ricard, Selectman Mickey Rivet and Sister Cecile Potrais.

Also present were the court's Chaplain and speaker Rev. Cleo Milano. Toiletries for Sisters of Charity and St. Vincent DePaul were also collected.

Members brought the Christmas spirit to the Plaquemine Manor Nursing Home and Plaquemine Caring Nursing Home on Dec. 10 by distributing handmade rosaries and Christmas cards as well as singing carols to the residents.

Several of the members also donated Christmas gifts for the Giving Tree at Plaquemine Manor.
