Sheriff's Office recovers stolen guns in Maringouin

The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office recently recovered stolen guns in a rash of burglaries from Iberville Parish to Mississippi in Maringouin.

MARINGOUIN - Iberville Parish Sheriff's Detectives in a joint investigation with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office recovered guns that were stolen in a rash of burglaries from Iberville Parish all the way to Mississippi.

The stolen guns were found in Maringouin and trace back to burglaries from 2010 and 2011 in Iberville, St. Landry, West Feliciana, East Feliciana and Livingston parishes as well as Pike County, Miss.

Several arrests have been made and additional charges are pending upon further investigation.

At this time, Sheriff Brett Stassi asks that anyone in possession of a firearm that they purchased and might think was possibly stolen to contact the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office.

The firearm will be checked and no charges will be filed.
