The Plaquemine Main Street Program joined forces with the Plaquemine Elks Lodge 1398 to mail Christmas cards signed by local residents to military personnel overseas. Children and adults attending the annual Children¹s Christmas Festival and Parade on Dec. 9 were given the opportunity to write personal note greetings on Christmas cards to cheer our soldiers. The Elks Lodge handled mailing of the cards to a designated Marine Corps division stationed in Afghanistan. Shown with some of the cards are

Kristine Hebert, Main Street Program Manager and Plaquemine Elks Lodge Exalted Ruler Chris Rivet. The Christmas event was sponsored by the Plaquemine Main Street Program, We Are the Difference, Inc. and Iberville Relay for Life.
