Plaquemine Garden Club announces Annual Essay Contest Winners

The Plaquemine Garden Club recently announced its Annual Essay Contest winners. PLAQUEMINE - High school students from St. John, Plaquemine High and MSA participated in the annual Plaquemine Garden Club Essay Contest recently.

The theme for the 2012-13 year was: "Ways We Can Protect Aquatic Ecosystems."

Kristen Seneca, St. John, won first place, while Randi Seneca, St. John, took second place. Honorable mentions went to Ben Porrier,

St. John, and Christen Lowe, Plaquemine High.

Kristen Seneca is a senior at St. John High School. She is a member of the St. John Drum Corps and Art Club and is also a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Her activities include drawing, painting, and playing music in bands.

Randi Seneca is also a senior at St. John. She is a member of the Beta Club, Student Council, Mu Alpha Theta, Key Club, Youth Ministry, National Honor Society and Science Club.

Her other activities include participation on the St. John volleyball team and the St. John cheerleading squad.
