Town of White Castle receives certificate for financial reporting
BATON ROUGE - The Town of White Castle has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the year ended Sept. 30, 2011.
"We congratulate Mayor Gerald Williams, Council members Jonathan Greene, John Barlow, Barbara O'Bear, Garnell Young and Dionne Lewis and the Town's staff in this significant achievement and being recognized for their commitment to reporting the public funds entrusted to them by their citizens," said Tommy LeJeune, CPA, audit and accounting partner of Faulk & Winkler, LLC. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and is awarded through the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
The award recognizes the comprehensive annual financial reporting (CAFR) provided by the Town of White Castle's finance department.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association dedicated to promoting the best financial practices and financial accountability in North America. The association currently serves more than 17,500 government finance professionals.
