BATON ROUGE - Effective Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) reopened hunting seasons on
Joyce, Manchac and Maurepas Swamp wildlife management areas (WMAs).
All hunting seasons, except waterfowl, had been closed Jan. 12 on these three WMAs due to high water levels associated with recent rain events.
The three WMAs contain acreage in parts of Ascension, Livingston, St. James, St. John the Baptist and Tangipahoa parishes.
