City of Plaquemine Mayor, Tony Gulotta, signed a proclamation last week declaring March 2013 as Brain Injury Awareness Month.
Present for the signing were Windy Henry and Brenda Bueche, both mothers of children who suffered traumatic brain injuries.
Brain injuries affect 1.7 million people, including 475,000 children per year. 3.1 million individuals live with life-long disabilities due to traumatic brain injury.
We Are The Difference, Inc. presented the proclamation to the mayor on behalf of all Plaquemine families dealing with this injury.
