BR man sought in St. Gabriel armed robbery attempt

ST. GABRIEL - The St. Gabriel Police Department seeks the public’s help in locating a Baton Rouge man facing prosecution on counts of attempted armed robbery and attempted murder.

Wardell Anderson, 35, is wanted on one count of attempted armed robbery and two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Anderson is suspected of entering the St. Gabriel Grocery and Deli on Feb. 22 with a gun and attempting to rob the store and shoot two employees.

A joint investigation by the St. Gabriel Police Department and the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office led to the identification of Anderson as the man suspected of committing the armed robbery.
