Cokie Roberts to deliver LSU commencement address

BATON ROUGE - Cokie Roberts, a political commentator for ABC News and senior news analyst for National Public Radio, will deliver the keynote address at LSU's spring commencement exercises on Thursday, May 16, at 2 p.m.
Roberts, originally from New Orleans, will speak at the main ceremony of LSU's 280th commencement, which will be held in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and will be followed by individual diploma ceremonies for each college on May 16 and 17. Roberts provides analysis for all ABC News network news programming. In her more than 40 years in broadcasting, she has won countless awards, including three Emmys. She has been inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame, and was cited by the American Women in Radio and Television as one of the 50 greatest women in the history of broadcasting.
Roberts holds more than 25 honorary degrees, serves on the boards of several non-profit institutions and was on the President George W. Bush's Commission on Service and Civic Participation.
