Plaquemine Bank & Trust hosts 26th Annual Art Show

PLAQUEMINE - Plaquemine Bank and Trust Company hosted the 26th annual "Art Alert" Art Show on April 17, which was open to all natives and current residents of Iberville and West Baton Rouge Parishes.
Total entries submitted for display this year totaled 133 with a limit of one entry per artist in all categories, except adults 18-years-old or older and professionals.
Entry categories included under 10 years old, 10-to-13, 14-18, non-professional adults 18 and older and Professional.
A community-wide reception was held to recognize all participating artists at 4 p.m. in the Plaquemine Bank lobby, which was graced with the works of art.
Stephen Panepinto, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Plaquemine Bank and Trust Company, emceed the reception and introduced the two Art Alert art show jurors, Rodneyna Hart and Judi Betts.
First place in the professional category was awarded to Bing Zengh for "Incense", while Randy LaPrairie's "Elmers Island" and Patsy Sanchez's "Music Man" entries earned second and third places respectively. Honorable mention went to Tony Ferachi's "Cold Crab".
Kylie Fremin's "Naked Cat" took home first-place honors in the 18 and up category. Second place went to Jeanita Tortorich's "Mother Nature" and third place was awarded to Gloria Genusa's "Barbershop" while Rowdy Breaux's "Sound of the Ocean" took home honorable mention.
Kristen Seneca's "Hoot" took home first-place honors in the 14-18 years-old category. Second-place went to Aubrey Robillard's "Forbidden Wood" and third place was awarded to Danielle Spath's "Time Machine." Honorable mention was awarded to Maelean Junto for "A Puzzle Look" and to Derra Leonard's "My Watch Frog."
In the 10- 13 years-old category, first place went to Ashton Kirby's "Eye to Eye." Haleigh Babin's "Inner Beauty" won second place. The third place winner was Clay LeBlanc's untitled piece and honorable mention went to Erin Stephens' "5."
In the under 10 category, Morgan LeBlanc's "October" received first place honors. Second place was awarded to "I Like Green Crayon" by Ashton DeVillier and third place honors were awarded to Isabella Louque's "Changing Color." Griffin Blanchard earned honorable mention for "Flying Shapes."
The judges awarded ribbons to the artists of the winning works of art and described the particular attributes of each that they appreciated.
Panepinto thanked the employees who helped make the event a success and also recognized Jan Herrington with Positive Results, the Bank's advertising and marketing firm.
Following the awarding of ribbons, refreshments were enjoyed.
