MSA-East band students receive superior rating

Nine band students at MSA-East in St. Gabriel scored a Superior rating, the highest score, at the recent Louisiana Music Educator Association's District IV Solo and Ensemble Festival held in Ascension Parish on April 20.

The students competed in District IV, comprised of Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana and St. James

"The students set high goals this year and each one achieved those by earning a Superior rating," MSA-East music instructor Maurice Miles said.

Miles also praised parents for supporting and encouraging the

winners. The students will be recognized at an school assembly.
