At the convention, MSA-East students competed in various academic areas, speech, and art.

The students also competed in district day at East Ascension High School on January 26, 2013 against 26 clubs. Dwayne Bell placed first in Speech, Kaylynn Bromfield placed first in T-shirt competition and Shore Fleury and Amber Patin placed fourth in Special Talent.
