Port Hudson State Historic Site will operate 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, effective May 8. Hourly tours and interpretive programs will continue to be offered during the site’s operating hours.
Port Hudson State Historic Site is the location of the longest siege in American military history. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1974, the site is host to Civil War re-enactments and living history events throughout the year.
Admission to the site and the event is $4 per person, free for children (12 and under) and seniors (62 and older). Port Hudson State Historic Site is located on U.S. Hwy. 61 near Zachary, about 15 minutes north of Baton Rouge. For more information, call 888.677.3400 or 225.654.3775.
