A suspect in the shooting death of Leon Banks, 36, of Plaquemine was arrested in Texas Wednesday.

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Roosevelt D. Jones, 19, 3441 Bird Heights, Addis, in Garland, Texas, and booked him with principal to first-degree murder in the April 24 slaying of Banks in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Port Allen.

Deputies reported the pair exchanged gunfire inside the car Jones was driving in an apparent drug deal.
