Plaquemine Garden Club hosts "May Hat" Luncheon

PLAQUEMINE - The Plaquemine Garden Club hosted its annual end-of-the year "May Hat" luncheon at the Island home of Mrs. Penny Acosta, 58975 Island Drive on May 14.

Culminating the year's projects, programs and activities chairpersons' reports were presented.

In addition the members donned beautiful hats decorated with fresh flowers.

Special guests included newly elected LGCF District VI Director Gail Lonibus, Sheriff Brett Stassi and his wife Caroline Engolio Stassi, Susan Persilver-parish horticulturist and Lucky Songy with the sheriff's office.

Presiding club officers in attendance were Marian Medine, President; Betty Blanchard, Second Vice President; Gail LeJeune, Recording Secretary; Travis Campesi, Treasurer; and Barbara Breaux, Corresponding Secretary.

The club received many outstanding Louisiana Garden Club Federation awards.
