13th Annual July 4th Home Town Celebration approaching

PLAQUEMINE – The 13th Annual July 4th Home Town Celebration is scheduled for Thursday, July 4 at the Bayou Plaquemine Water Front Park located at 57845 Foundry St.

The Plaquemine Lock State Historic Site will be open and there will be boat pavilion tours from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Iberville Museum will also be open with displays and exhibits from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Boat rides and Locke Wood Ashe boat motor demonstration with the Old Engine Boat Club will be held from noon – 4 p.m. between lock chamber and boat pavilion.

Great food, crafts, and children's game booths at the Bayou Plaquemine Water Front Park will be from 5 – 9 p.m.

Veterans' Boat Parade on Bayou Plaquemine honoring local War Veterans will begin at 5 p.m. and end at Bayou Plaquemine Water Front Park pier.

Ceremonies at the park include an opening prayer and introduction of grand marshals.

Dancing in the park to live music including a contest on the boardwalk will be held from 6 – 9 p.m.

Fireworks along the bayou begin at 9 p.m.

No ice chests or pets. Bring your lawn chairs.

Boats are welcome in the Plaquemine Lock Chamber.

Free admission to all sites.
