Louisiana Humane Society offering reward for shot pit bulls in Washington Parish

FRANKLINTON - On Sunday July 7, 2013 at approximately 7:30 p.m. an unknown individual or individuals shot and abandoned two pit bulls near the intersection of Pico Road and Highway 25 in Washington Parish.

The pit bulls were not dead and continued to suffer after being dumped until euthanized by the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office.

The Humane Society of Louisiana and Tangi Humane Society have jointly issued a combined $750 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.

The case is currently being investigated by the Washington Parish

Sheriff's Office under item number 2013070337 and is open and active with few leads.

The location of this incident is a common "dumping ground" for unwanted animals in Washington Parish, which has no parish-wide animal control facility.
