Maringouin Mayor Overton chosen LMA District VP

MONROE - Vern A. Breland, Mayor of Sterlington, and former LMA First Vice President was installed as President of the Louisiana Municipal Association on Aug. 3, at the Louisiana Municipal Association's 76th Annual Convention at the Monroe Civic Center Complex.
Breland succeeds Hilda D. Curry, Mayor of New Iberia, as the LMA's highest ranking officer. As President, he will serve as the Association's leading official advocating for the villages, towns, and cities in Louisiana during 2013-2014 year.
Additionally, he will serve as the head of the Louisiana Municipal Association Executive Board, and Chair of the Louisiana Municipal Association Executive Committee.
In addition, 10 District Vice Presidents who will serve on LMA's Executive Board in 2013-2014 were introduced including Maringouin Mayor John F. Overton Sr. in District H.
