GONZALES - The ARC of East Ascension invites educators, business leaders, parents, policy makers and attorneys to register now for its conference, Life Planning for Persons with Disabilities.

This event will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Clarion Inn Conference Center in Gonzales, with lunch provided by Mike Anderson's Seafood Restaurant.

The keynote speaker, Theresa M. Varnet, M.S.W., J.D., of Washington D.C. draws from more than 40 years as an advocate for persons with disabilities.

In addition to being a certified teacher, licensed social worker and graduate of the DePaul University College of Law, she is the parent of an adult daughter with a disability. She specializes in probate and estate planning for people with disabilities.

Registration is $100 for professionals seeking CEU credit; $75 for ARC directors/administrators; $35 for individuals advocating for a person with a disability; and, $25 for COEA members.
