WBR Museum hosts JFK Book Club

PORT ALLEN - The West Baton Rouge Museum in partnership with the West Baton Rouge Parish Library is hosting a Book Club to accompany the traveling photography exhibit, "Capturing Camelot: The Kennedy Years" and to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the assassination of President Kennedy.

Participants in the Book Club will read Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero by Chris Matthews. The Book Club discussions will be moderated by historian Dr. Paul Paskoff. Discussions will be held on Oct. 24 and Oct. 31 at 12:30 - 2:30pm at the West Baton Rouge Museum.

Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero is a biography of one of America's most loved presidents based on personal interviews with those closest to JFK, oral histories by top political aides, documents from his years as a student at Choate, and notes from Jacqueline Kennedy's first interview after her husband was slain.

Registration is required to participate in the free program. Loan copies of the book will be provided to the first 25 participants. Copies of the book may be checked out in advance of the first meeting by visiting the West Baton Rouge Museum Tuesday – Friday between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
