International Acadian Festival announces parade route change

PLAQUEMINE - The International Acadian Festival Parade route is being changed this year and for all future years.

The parade, scheduled for Oct. 20 will start in between Citizens Bank and Iberville Bank at 10 a.m. Sunday morning, Oct. 20.

It will proceed down Eden St. all the way to Belleview Road. Then it will make a right and continue down Belleview and end at Plaza Drive by the Iberville Parish Civic Center.

"We sincerely regret changing of the parade route after 45 years of riding through the Garden District of Plaquemine," a spokesperson said. "Circumstances that are out of our control have pushed us to make this decision."

The International Acadian Festival and the Knights of Columbus Council 970 hope everyone understands and will continue to support the International Acadian Festival Parade and the Festival as always.
