Baton Rouge General hosts free cancer awareness event

BATON ROUGE - Join Baton Rouge General, physicians, staff, survivors and friends on Thursday, Oct. 17 at Life's a Canvas - A Night for Cancer Awareness, a free special event that promotes early detection, celebrates life and brings out the inner artist in you.
Attendees will paint a canvas with instruction from a talented local artist with Baton Rouge General's Arts in Medicine program, hear inspiring stories from cancer survivors, and learn more about early detection and ways to arm themselves against cancer from physician experts.
Attendees will also enjoy live music, door prizes, hors d'oeuvres and cooking demonstrations.
The event begins at 6 p.m. and will be held at Baton Rouge General's Bluebonnet campus. You must be 21 years or older to attend and registration is required. For more information or to register, visit BRGeneral.org.
