Iberville Parish Library hosts Hollywood Halloween Bash Oct. 26

PLAQUEMINE - Dead, Undead or Aliveeee! Hollywood "stars" will be walking the red carpet in the Plaquemine Library Meeting Room on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 6 - 8 p.m.
Friends of the Iberville Parish Libraries is sponsoring this family Halloween program.
Holly Besse, a 12-year employee of the library and an event planner, returns for a fifth year as coordinator and will be dressed as Cleopatra.
"I love Halloween and I love bringing the event to all age groups," she said. "And the library is a safe place."
Her favorite past Halloween event was the "Zombie Prom" in 2011.
"The adults put together costumes that were really creative and original and they had just as much fun as the kids," Besse said.
At this free event there will be fun, games, refreshments and treat bags. And what's a Hollywood theme without a screening? Adults and kids alike will be invited to try and match dance moves in "Thriller" and "Monster Mash."
"Our Carnival theme last year was so much fun, the fortune-telling booth was a hit and I had a blast as Madame Bethany," noted Friends President Bethany Cardinal.
Among other contributions, the Friends group is a partial sponsor of the library's annual Acadian Art Show and the Summer Reading Program. Their Annual Book Sale is their most popular fundraiser.
The Friends group is also dedicated to enriching the community library experience throughout the year.
"We try to sponsor a diverse array of programs and workshops and we strive to keep them cost-free for our community members," Cardinal said.
