Parish Council sets budget hearing

PLAQUEMINE – The Iberville Parish Council set a public hearing on a proposed $41.2 million budget and amendments to the 2013 budget at its regularly scheduled meeting Oct. 15 in the Iberville Parish Courthouse.
The hearing will be held prior to the council's next meeting Nov. 19.
The council also took up a resolution approving the appointment of a director and alternate director to represent the council on the board of directors of the Louisiana Municipal Natural Gas Purchasing and Distribution Authority.
Also on the agenda was a resolution for the relocation of voting precincts numbered 14, 14A and 14B from the field building at the City of Plaquemine Activity Center located at 58275 Fort St. in Plaquemine to the gymnasium located at COPAC.
In other news, the council approved Oct. 31 from 6 - 8 p.m. as Halloween Trick or Treat hours for the unincorporated areas of the parish.
The council also presented International Acadian Festival 2013 Evangeline Queen Deanna Kaycee Keller with a proclamation and a bouquet of roses.
Finally, the council announced a sale of properties adjudicated to the parish for failure to pay taxes, will be held in the courthouse lobby on Nov. 13 at 10 a.m.
