Louisiana National Guard awards War Cross to 75 soldiers

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana National Guard awarded approximately 75 soldiers with the Louisiana War Cross and other recognitions during a Freedom Salute Awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge Oct. 20.

Freedom Salute Awards ceremonies are held in recognition and appreciation of LANG Soldiers and Airmen who deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom during the deployment cycle.

Soldiers from the following units were awarded: 756th Medical Company, based in Carville; 204th Theater Area Operations Group, based in Hammond; 205th Engineer Battalion, based in Bogalusa; 2225th Multi-Role Bridge Company, based in Marrero; 225th Engineer Brigade, based in Pineville; 922nd Engineer Company, based in Gonzales and the 926th Engineer Company, based in Baker.

The ceremony concluded a weekend of post-deployment Yellow Ribbon training for more than 320 guardsmen and family members representing units across the state.
