PLAQUEMINE - Back by popular demand, the City of Plaquemine Main Street Program will usher in the Christmas Holiday Season by sponsoring the Children's Christmas Festival on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Bayou Plaquemine Waterfront Park and Iberville Relay for Life.

This event was started in 1993 by the Plaquemine Main Street Program.

A full slate of activities is being planned for children such as a puppet show, balloon twister mister, strolling magic, cup cake decorating, music, performances by local groups.

Special attractions include the strolling juggler on stilts, along with spinning flags and hula-hoop demonstrations.

Be on the lookout for Santa's arrival "Cajun-Style" and plan to take memorable photos with Santa. Over 3,000 colored bulbs highlight the award-winning park into a Christmas showpiece.

Iberville Relay for Life will be sponsoring fish fry luncheon to dine in or take for $8 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. courtesy of Top Notch Catering. Hot dogs, drinks, and sweets will be sold throughout the day.
