Plaquemine Main Street Program hosts students Nov. 22

The Plaquemine Lock State Historic Site hosts Civil War Reenactments in the spring. The site will host students on Nov. 22.

PLAQUEMINE - The Friends of the Plaquemine Lock, the Iberville Museum and the Plaquemine Main Street Program will welcome 240 students from Crescent Elementary, Iberville Elementary and MSA-West Middle Schools to the Plaquemine Lock State Historic Site and the Iberville Museum on Nov. 22.

Educational stations will be set-up demonstrating and discussing A. Wibert's Sons LLC, Cattle Trails through Iberville Parish, Consolidated Groceries, Schnebelen Brickyard, Baist Co-Op, Old Motors, Syrup Making, Putt Putt Boats, Shipyard, Children's Games and Sugar Cane.

All drivers in the area between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. are asked to mindful of the children.

The event is part of the "Louisiana Main To Main – A Cultural Road Show" presented by Plaquemine Main Street Program for November.
