Multiple defendants plead guilty

PLAQUEMINE – 18th Judicial District Attorney Richard J. Ward Jr. reports the following individuals pled guilty during the week of Nov. 12. All pleas were obtained by Assistant District Attorney Dana Larpenteur and sentences were imposed by Judge Alvin Batiste.

-Jerry Worthy, 21, 22720 B. West St., Plaquemine, pled guilty to five counts simple burglary and possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabis and sentenced to five years probation and two years bench probation to run concurrent.

-Carlton Handy, 57, 63535 Bayou Jacob Road, Plaquemine, pled guilty to possession of schedule II substance, hit and run driving and unauthorized use of a movable and was sentenced to five years probation twice to run concurrent.

-Clifton Smith, 37, 58150 Bell St., Plaquemine, pled guilty to simple burglary and sentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections.

-Keedrick Spriggs, 19, 57718 Plaquemine St., pled guilty to two counts of simple burglary and sentenced to five years probation on each count to run concurrent.

-Lance Calloway, 37, 24825 Butler St., Plaquemine, pled guilty to unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and possession with intent to distribute schedule I substance and sentenced to five years probation for each count to run concurrent.

-Timothy Ferdinand, 45, 10900 W. Mill St., Maringouin, pled guilty to simple burglary and will be sentenced Dec. 11.

-Jakcie Raye Hamilton, 25, Elayn Hunt Correctional Center, St. Gabriel, pled guilty to introduction of contraband and sentenced to four month in the Department of Corrections to run consecutive with time currently being served.

-Ashlia R. Jolivette, 25, 23526 Federal St., Plaquemine, pled guilty to three counts theft and sentenced to five years probation on each count.

-Dwight W. Thomas Jr., 21, 25357 Bowie St., White Castle, pled guilty to aggravated flight from an officer and aggravated battery and sentenced to two and three years in the Department of Corrections to run concurrent.
