4-H SAFETY CLASS

Iberville Parish 4-H is aiming in a new direction of youth development with its Shooting Sports Program.   

Under the leadership of 4-H volunteer instructors Chris and Jennifer Thigpen, the club will have its first meeting Feb. 22 at 5:30 p.m. at the West Baton Rouge Extension Office in Port Allen.  Shooting sports is open to youth ages 9-18 who are interested in the shotgun discipline.  Parents are strongly encouraged to attend.

Youth learn marksmanship, the safe and responsible use of firearms, the principles of hunting and archery, and much more. The activities of the program and the support of caring adult leaders provide young people with opportunities to develop life skills, self-worth, and conservation ethics.
