We Are the Difference to host 'Hidden Treasure of Iberville Cemetery Tour' Sunday

We Are The Difference, Inc and the Promotion and Preservation of Iberville, Inc are hosting a Cemetery Tour at St. John Cemetery located on Federal Street in Plaquemine on Oct. 15 at 3 p.m.

The tour encompasses the last days on Last Island, which was a resort island for residents of Iberville Parish and many other Louisianans. The hurricane that hit the island took the lives of most. Join us to hear the story of the survivors.

The tour covers the Schlatre, Mille, Ellis, Hart, Pugh and Cropper families and those whose lives intertwined.

You will be entertained by re-enactments and brief biographies performed by actors from Iberville Community Theatre. Proceeds will go towards refurbishing grave sites at the cemetery.

Wear comfortable shoes. Terrain is uneven. Tours are approximate one-quarter of a mile of walking.
