Iberville Sheriff’s deputies on Saturday arrested a Plaquemine man on firearms charges after he allegedly threatened a woman in Seymourville, Chief Criminal Deputy Stephen Engolio said.

Percy Bernard, 22, of 25730 Levy Street, was arrested near the Center Street house where the incident occurred, Engolio said.

Shortly after the woman filed a complaint, deputies found Bernard near her house, the chief deputy said. When a pat-down search turned up a firearm, Bernard admitted to the incident, Engolio alleged.

He said Bernard was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and as a felon in possession of a firearm.
