Kiwanis Prayer Breakfast set for Tuesday

Pastor Dino Rizzo of the Healing Place Church will be the special guest speaker at the 22nd Annual Kiwanis Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Knights of Columbus Council 970 Hall in Plaquemine. Breakfast begins at 7 a.m. with a 7:30 a.m. program start.

Pastor Dino Rizzo will be the guest speaker for the annual Kiwanis Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday, November 18. The popular event will be held one week earlier and at a new location the Knights of Columbus Hall on Price Street in Plaquemine. Again this year the event will feature announcing the Kiwanis Citizen of the Year Award winner. Breakfast will be served at 7:00 a.m., with the program starting at 7:30 a.m. The event is open to the public.

Dino Rizzo is the founding pastor of Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge.  The church with over 7,000 people in 11 campuses and 18 weekend services.  The Healing Place Church has been named one of America’s Top 25 Most Innovative Churches, a reflection of his overwhelming drive to reach the unreachable and to engage with others to show God’s love to the poor and hurting, wherever they are.  His book, SERVOLUTION, exposes his passion to see believers join together in a revolution of serving others—Jesus style.  Dino and his wife DeLynn have three children. Many local companies and civic groups sponsor the breakfast and help make it a fund-raiser for the Kiwanis Club.  Funds raised from the breakfast are expended on Kiwanis community projects throughout the year.  This special community event encourages people of all faiths and all walks of life to come together before the Thanksgiving holiday to enjoy an uplifting program featuring a main speaker, brief remarks from local church leaders, and music.

Tickets for the Kiwanis Breakfast for adults are $5.00 in advance and $7.00 at the door and for students $2.00.  They can be purchased at the door or in advance at the following locations: Bank of Commerce in White Castle, Citizens Bank, First Financial, the Iberville Chamber of Commerce, Plaquemine Bank, and Charlie Edwards State Farm Insurance on Belleview Road.
