White Castle High’s Lady Bulldogs and St. John High’s Lady Eagles notched state volleyball playoff berths last week as number 15 seeds in their respective divisions.

WCHS, a 5-3 second-place finisher in their Division V district, played Metairie Park Country Day down in the New Orleans metro area Monday, while SJHS, a three-victory district third-place club in Division IV, also traveled to the Crescent City area to tangle with John Curtis High.

Results of the Monday games were not in by sports deadline. PS SPORTS will publish game reports in next week’s issue. If one or both of the teams won Monday they advanced late this week to the annual state tournament in Kenner.

WCHS was led during the regular season by Ronquel Gibson, Simone Beauvais, Stacy Saylor, Angela Brown, Shelby Martin, Tyrenee Foster, and Meeker Melancon. SJHS leaders were Ashley Mumphrey, Kylee Brown, Morgan Amorello, Halie Verret, and Katie Falcon.
