Manuel Darrell Carline a native and resident of Plaquemine passed away at 3:40 P.M. Wednesday, September 3, 2008, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Manuel, who was 50 years of age at the time of his passing, was a retired Deck Mate at Businelle Towing. Visiting was at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, Sunday September 7 from 5pm to 9pm and again on Monday September 8 from 11am to 1pm, at which time a service conducted by Brother Skippy Valence was conducted. Internment followed in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine.

Manuel is survived by six Sisters and four Brothers-in-law; Hilda and Skippy Valence of Addis, Carla Carline and Gerald Fleniken of Grosse Tete, Catherine Carline of Port Allen, Donna Kay and John “Smitty” Smith of Prairieville, Doris Carline of Addis and Norma Jean and Danny Crane of Gonzales. He is also survived by two Brothers and Sisters-in-law; Curtis and Martha Carline of Zachary and James and Jessica Carline of Baton Rouge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Manuel Earlis and Ellen Elizabeth “Betty” Howard Carline.

Pallbearers were Dale and Gerald Carline, Troy and Travis Valence, Joshua Smith and Brian Carline.

Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen was in charge of the arrangements.
