1 Peter 6-11

So, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you. Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, steadfast in faith, knowing that your fellow believers throughout the world undergo the same sufferings. The God of all grace who called you t his eternal glory through Christ Jesus will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little. To him be dominion forever. Amen.

A native and resident of Plaquemine, Colt Anthony Rivet passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2009. He was 26 years old and loved to fish.

Visiting will take place today, Thursday, Jan. 8 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the River Church in Addis. A religious service conducted by the Rev. Butch LaBauve will follow at 2 p.m.

He is survived by his fiancé Brettanye Michelle, 2 sons, Brennan and Brody, mother Marsha Martinez, father David Rivet of South Dakota, sister Hayley Rivet and her friend Ciziar Weatherford, and brother Travis Rivet and his wife Missy. He leaves behind memories to be cherished by his nieces and nephews, Bria and Brinley Rivet, Blayne Rivet who thought of Colt as a brother, Brooklyn Rivet and Alyse Weatherford. He also leaves memories to be cherished by his aunts and uncles, Cindy Savoy and husband Ray and Andre Martinez and wife Catherine; and cousins Rory and Rhett Vaughn and Rachel Vaughn King, Blake, Elizabeth and Benjamin Martinez.

He preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joe and Virgie Lee Martinez and parental grandparents, Earl and Lee Rivet.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family for expenses.
