Rosedale holds inauguration ceremonies

Longtime Rosedale Mayor Lawrence J. “Football” Badeaux, left, takes the oath of office from his son-in-law, Parish Councilman Matt Jewell of Maringouin. Badeaux’s wife, Thelma, holds the bible for him. Village of Rosedale officials were sworn in at ceremonies at Town Hall last Tuesday.

Lawrence “Football” Badeaux, who has worked in various capacities with the Village of Rosedale during the last 50 years, began his next term as mayor after a swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday.

Ceremonies were held at the Town Hall.

Also taking the oath were returning aldermen Randal” Panco” Badeaux and Kevin Gantt, as well newcomer Dana Neareaux Alexander.

City Attorney Jerry Guillot administered the oaths.

Chief of Police Mike Sparks began his second term in office.

Also, Jackie Weley took office as Justice of the Peace in Rosedale.

The ceremony includes, from left, Gantt’s wife Cynthia, Gantt, Badeaux, his wife Vickie, Alexander’s husband Mark, Alexander and Guillot.
