St. John awaits University, PHS heads to St. Amant in Week 3 action

The St. John Eagles head into action tonight (Friday) fresh off a No. 1 ranking and still undefeated when they entertain University High.

The contest is one of several local games on the bill for Week 3 of high school football action. In other action, the Plaquemine Green Devils head to St. Amant and White Castle hosts Pointe Coupee Central. All three games start at 7 p.m.

St. John enters Andrew Canova Stadium for the contest after a 39-10 rout last week against Pope John Paul II.

Things didn’t come so easy for the Cubs of Class 2A last week, who suffered a 19-18 loss against 3A opponent Livonia.

The Green Devils head to The Pit after a 21-20 win over Glen Oaks, while St. Amant topped Covington 56-33.

The Bulldogs suffered a 44-20 loss last week against Top 10 2A opponent Donaldsonville, while Southern Lab crushed Pointe Coupee Central 51-0.
