Atchafalaya Days events tomorrow “

Experience Atchafalaya Days” events will begin tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 1) at the Atchafalaya Welcome Center at Butte La rose exit of Interstate 10.

The month of October has been designated Atchafalaya month by Gov. Bobby Jindal and events surrounding the basin area will include annual festival, music shows, craft shows, classes, and cookoff.

Kickoff day will be tomorrow at the Welcome Center. Representatives of federal, state, and local agencies will be on hand to answer question and local crafts and a movie on the basin will be presented. A brown bag lunch and discussion on the basin also will be held tomorrow at the Capitol Park Welcome Center on the River Road featuring Charles Fryling. The state and Friends of the Atchafalaya are putting on the special events.
