White Castle Ferry to close for three weeks

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced this week that the White Castle ferry will be closed for three weeks.

The 17-car White Castle ferry was moved to the St. Francisville/New Roads ferry landing for use as a replacement for a boat being repaired.

Plaquemine and St. Francisville ferries will run during normal business hours on Thanksgiving Day.

Before traveling, drivers can call the Toll-Free Ferry Information line at 1-888-613-3779 for the status of the ferry, or visit the "Ferry Status" page on the right-hand side of the DOTD Web site.
