New museum exhibit opens March 14

Sunday, March 14, the Iberville Museum will have its Grand Opening of The Anglo-Scots-Irish of Iberville Exhibit, Part V of the People of Iberville Series.

The opening ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m. and will feature Scottish music by the Baton Rouge Caledonian Pipes and Drum Corp along with guest speakers: Plaquemine Mayor Mark A. “Tony” Gulotta, Iberville Parish Councilman Louis “Pete” Kelley and a few other surprises.  Light refreshments will be served along with free admission to the museum for the event.

The Anglo-Scots-Irish of Iberville Exhibit highlights the journey of people of English and Celtic descent to Louisiana and their influence on the history and culture of Iberville Parish.  Come find out about the families that lived and still live in the Parish. 

The exhibit runs from March 14, 2010 to May 22, 2010.
