The Lady Eagles celebrated “Senior Night” during the recent Easter Week with a contest against District 8-A foe Ascension Christian of Gonzales. St. John was victorious in this two and a half inning affair by a score of 15-0.

The first inning belonged to the Lady Eagle seniors. Lauren Poirrier got on base twice with a single and a walk, Bailey Burleigh got on with two walks, Morgan Allain had two hits and four RBI, Sarah Raffray made first base with a walk and Hannah Pitre also got a single.

Meanwhile, first-year starter Kamryn Theriot helped with a two-run single.

By the time the AC club got three Eagle outs, the locals had a lead of 9-0.

The seniors continued to get on base and score in the bottom of the second frame. Senior Aimee Troxclair got a single and a walk. Other seniors, Pitre, Poirrier, and Burleigh all got on base with walks. Allain had a two-run single, and Raffray also had an RBI single.

And, again, a first-year starter contributed as Jessie Brown got a single and drove in a run.

Theriot ended up pitching to only 12 batters, striking out eight while allowing only one hit as the Eagles won by the 1-run rule in two innings of play.
