Green Devils trim Port Allen 10-8 in 8-3A action

Freshman Josh Falcon had two singles for Plaquemine in the 10-8 win Tuesday over Port Allen.

The Plaquemine Green Devils claimed their first District 8-3A win of the season Tuesday when the broke loose from a tie to top Port Allen 10-8.

Josh Falcon and Jarvis Himes each went 2-for-3 for the Green Devils, while teammate Cody Nugent went 1-for-3 with three RBIS.

Plaquemine scored runs in the fourth and sixth innings to break loose from Port Allen.

The Green Devils took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but PAHS responded with four runs in the top of the second.

Plaquemine belted six runs in the bottom of the second to pull past the Pelicans. But Port Allen followed with four more runs in the next frame to tie the score.

Blake Landry was winning pitcher.

Aaron Williams and Jacques Langlois each went 2-for-3 for Port Allen. Pitcher Beau Holmes was tagged with the loss.

Plaquemine finished with nine hits and Port Allen six.

The Green Devils committed two errors, while the Pels had three.

Plaquemine visits Brusly at 4 p.m. Thursday.
